Governance rarely attracts attention when it works.
Roads get built. Services reach people. Policies survive changes in leadership. Disagreements are managed without becoming crises.
The challenge is that today’s institutions are being asked to solve increasingly complex problems while operating in an environment of higher public expectations, faster information flows, and growing political pressure.
Why we care
Whatever the issue is, the outcomes and impacts depend on the quality of governance behind them. Good ideas do not automatically become good policy. And good policy does not automatically translate into results.
The gap is often found in coordination failures, weak implementation, competing incentives, or limited public trust. Understanding and addressing these realities is what turns ambition into action.

Reimagining Public Services Through Human-Centered Governance
What We Did: In partnership with KemenPAN-RB, Komdigi, and Bappenas, Think Policy contributed to efforts to modernize public services through governance innovation, institutional coordination, and the development of practical guidance for human-centered service delivery.
Pillar 4: Advisory (Pathways)
Designing the Governance Framework for Indonesia’s Biodiversity & Climate Hub
What We Did: Think Policy supported GIZ IKI for the 2026–2031 planning of Indonesia’s Biodiversity & Climate Hub by developing the institutional arrangements, coordination mechanisms, and implementation roadmap needed to translate long-term ambitions into effective action.

Improving Governance and Accountability for Jakarta’s Climate Action
What We Did: Think Policy developed governance and monitoring frameworks to support the implementation of Jakarta’s Climate Action Plan, while building the capacity of 40–50 government officials to manage and track climate initiatives more effectively.

Examining the State of Democratic Governance in Indonesia
What We Did: Drawing on research conducted between 2024 and 2025, Think Policy analyzed the strengths and weaknesses of Indonesia’s policymaking ecosystem, focusing on participation, accountability, and the quality of public decision-making.
