UX Researcher Intern
As a UX Researcher Intern, you will contribute to the user-centered development process of Bijak Memantau, an initiative by Think Policy. The program seeks to demystify complex policy issues for the Indonesian public (ages 19-40) and facilitate understanding and participation in legislative monitoring. You will gather insights to ensure that the platform delivers an intuitive, accessible, and impactful experience for its target audience.
Job Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for:
User Research & Analysis
Conduct qualitative and quantitative user research to understand the needs, pain points, and behaviors of the target audience (19-40 years old/Bijak Memilih previous persona).
Organize and conduct user interviews, surveys, and focus groups to collect insights.
Analyze existing behavioral data, user feedback, and trends to identify improvement.
Design Collaboration
Work closely with product designer, head of platform, and Bijak Memantau team to incorporate research findings into user-centric designs.
Advocate for user needs during product planning and development stages.
Usability Testing
Plan and execute usability testing for testing and live environment features of Bijak Memantau.
Synthesize findings into actionable recommendations to improve usability and accessibility.
Accessibility Focus
Ensure that the platform caters to a diverse audience with varying levels of digital literacy.
Identify barriers to entry and develop strategies to minimize intimidation or complexity.
Reporting & Documentation
Document research findings in clear, concise reports for stakeholders.
Present insights and updates to the Think Policy team during the development process.
Individual KPI
Application of Research Methodologies
Successfully conduct at least 2 different types of user research (e.g., interviews, surveys, or usability testing) during the internship period, demonstrating understanding of research principles.
Present findings from each research activity to the team in a clear and actionable manner.
Understanding User Needs
Develop 2 user persona and 1 user journey map based on research insights by the midpoint of the internship.
Reflect on feedback and iterate on these deliverables to ensure relevance and accuracy.
Usability Testing Skills
Plan and conduct at least 1 usability testing session, including recruitment of users, preparation of testing scripts, and delivery of a findings report.
Accessibility Awareness
Identify and report at least 2 potential accessibility barriers within the product and propose solutions based on best practices.
Participate in discussions about design improvements that align with accessibility goals.
Personal Growth and Feedback Implementation
Actively seek feedback from mentors and stakeholders during 3 feedback sessions across the internship.
Demonstrate improvement in areas highlighted during feedback through subsequent task and deliverables.
Documentation and Reflection
Submit a final internship report summarizing key learnings, contributions, and reflections on the process.
Qualifications
Final-year student (semester 7 or 8) or fresh graduate with a Bachelor's degree in:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
